I first met Dan Weintraub about eight years ago. I had a hotel project under construction and Imperial Bank, my lender, stopped honoring my construction loan draws forcing me to fund my construction out of my own pocket. Because the bank had breached its obligations to me, I chose to stop making my loan payments. It soon became clear why Imperial stop funding my loan. Imperial collapsed and was taken over by the government and was then acquired by City National Bank. City National claimed I was in breach and threatened to foreclose on my project.
